Makoto Takao

Makoto began learning the cello at age six, being exposed to the world of classical music from an early age. In addition to his committed involvement and national touring with string orchestras and ensembles during his high school years at Applecross SHS, Makoto joined the WAYO Philharmonic Orchestra in 2004, becoming its principle cellist in 2007. Subsequently, he continued to perform with the West Australian Youth Orchestra throughout 2008.

In conjunction with the development of his passion for music, Makoto has been variously involved with chamber music ensembles since 2005. He is currently part of Panforte, the Ambrosia String Quartet and the Panforte String Trio. In the near future he hopes to pursue further studies in early music and period performance.
