Richard Delaney-Bindahneem
Richard Delaney-Bindahneem (Ricky) was introduced to music in pre-primary at the age of five, although it wasn’t until the age of six that he commenced formal piano lessons. Ever since, music has always been a significant part of his life. In primary school, Ricky began clarinet lessons as a way of broadening his musical understanding and introducing himself to the different world of ensemble playing.
Ricky’s secondary schooling was another important time in his musical development. He attended Como Secondary College and performed with the Senior School Jazz Band (Piano), the Senior Concert Band (Clarinet), numerous clarinet ensembles and he also studied as a classical solo performer. These ensembles enabled Ricky to perform at numerous locations around Perth, and he was also given the opportunity to perform in Band Competitions in Sydney and Melbourne. In his senior years, Ricky began to concentrate mainly on his Piano studies. He enrolled in the school's TEE Music program and graduated in 2008 being awarded the top music student of his graduating class.
Now graduated from high school, Ricky is currently studying for his piano AMEB AMus diploma.
